Authorities estimate that the Conficker computer worm has infiltrated about 10 million Windows computers throughout the world; according to the Dallas Morning News, on April 1, these PCs will allegedly all “phone home” to a central computer.

If you’re running a Windows PC or notebook, be sure to check out the Microsoft link below to ensure you’re as protected as possible from the Conficker computer worm. Whether it turns out to be an April Fool’s Day joke or not remains to be seen, but it doesn’t hurt to be safe either way.
