Ines and Annett are two emerging artists from Germany who started an experiment to combine chess and art in a new way. It all begins with the chessboard. Up to two fields are combined and painted on 15.75 x 15.75 inches gallery-canvas. Each combination will only be painted once by Ines and Annett. That way you get 528 unique painting that are exclusively available online. Black Chessboard-Fields on white Canvas Each painting displays a uniqe combination of chessboard fields. On the back of each painting you can find the name of the combination as well as an authencity key and the signings by Ines and Annett. The canvas are all the same size with the squares painted in black. They only differ by the combination displayed. These unique paintings can only be bought by internet users at www.chessboardart.com. 07-07-07 - a special day For the start of this project Ines and Annett chose a special day that’s said to bring luck with 777 - the 7th July 2007. Will it be a lucky start-date for this new conceptional art project? Only time will tell..but the two artists are very excited about the upcoming development. What about the price? The price for the paintings is not fixed. There’s a maximum price for each painting that is defined by the combination itself. In the beginning there’s an discount of 90%. That discount will decrease the more paintings are sold. So it makes sense to buy the painting early to get a good price.
