The color thesaurus is a nifty tool that is perfect for those of us who can't tell our cream for our ivory, our beige from our tan and our crimson from our garnet. The tool was put together by writer and children's book illustrator Ingrid Sundberg, and is useful for writers and illustrators looking to expand their repertoire or indeed for anyone who struggles with color names.

Sundberg admits that her color thesaurus isn't a be-all-end-all solution, as people perceive color differently and color is subjective. Regardless of the subjectivity of color, there's no doubt that this thesaurus and infographic can help you expand your descriptive vocabulary and your knowledge of colors.

Sundberg enjoyed putting together the thesaurus so much that she now plans to work on a visual hair-color thesaurus and a visual emotions and facial expressions guide.
