By now you’ve heard the news that Circuit City is closing roughly 150, or 20%, of its stores and laying off thousands and employees. Not only does this bring the credit crisis to the forefront of our minds, but it makes us think of future consumer electronic sales. Circuit City specializes in “flat screen tvs, plasma TVs, digital cameras, notebooks and pcs of all brands,” as described by their site. Increasingly these types of technological devices are being sold at big box stores like Wal-Mart, or online. With the Circuit City closures as our inspiration, the slideshow below highlights some of the hottest tech innovations in the TV, camera and computer genres in 2008.
