This matcha sugar-dusted churros recipe introduces an energizing green tea element to a beloved Mexican dessert. Created by Adrianna Adarme at the food blog A Cozy Kitchen, the homemade churros are deep fried, not baked, with the perfect amount of sweetness. Inspired by matcha beignets served at the Dominique Ansell pop-up in Japan, the treats are covered in matcha sugar.

The matcha sugar is made out of regular powdered sugar and green tea matcha powder mixed together. This means they will be caffeinated. The churros recipe uses a "choux-type dough" that could also be used to make eclairs or cream puffs. This dish also includes chocolate ganache consisting of heavy cream and either semi-sweet or bitter sweet chocolate chips.
