Christopher Kane is inspired by biology with the Spring 2014 Collection. Christopher Kane explains how he looks at flowers in a different way, growing tired of them always being "beautiful." He says, “It occurred to me how relevant and important they are for survival and I thought it could be interesting to look at them from a biologist’s point of view."

With this collection, we see interesting adaptations of flowers in cutout forms and colorful fibers intertwined in a medley of dresses and skirts. This collection takes a very different approach in terms of graphics. We see scientific diagrams of flowers, ovaries and sexual organs of plant life, which really outlines the primal functions of flowers. The collection also features classical spring garments in pastel colors, but is still innately different from competing designers.
