Honda's ad campaign for this holiday season taps Run DMC's classic 'Christmas in Hollis' for its soundtrack. Who would've thought 25 years ago that the big talking, black leather and gold rope chain-wearing brothers from Hollis, Queens would be perfect for selling mini vans?
The commercial itself is advertising the Honda Odyssey and features several different scenarios that make use of the mini van's space and safety features like the rear parking camera and Bluetooth capabilities for hands-free calling. Christmas in Hollis was released in 1987. While they were considered edgy and radical at the time, Run DMC has become revered as music legends and even earned a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
