Iconic Furniture Design

Charles Eames was an iconic Amercian designer and was responsible for some of the 20th century's most seminal and legendary pieces of designer furniture. Few could equal the understated but functionally astute Eames DSW Chair which, quite frankly, was one of the most important and stylish pieces of the last half century.

The Charles Eames DSW chair was his entry for a Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) competition to create low-cost, yet highly striking and functional pieces of furniture and I think we can all agree that Eames pretty much hit the nail firmly on the head with this stunning piece which was, in fact, the first industrially manufactured plastic chair.

Originally released in the late 1940's, this breath-taking piece of seating has a timeless appeal which has meant that it is still just as popular today as when it first hit the market over half a century ago. Stats for The Eames DSW Chair Trending: Older & Chilly
