Charles Eames is a name that you are familiar with if you're a follower of designer furniture trends and interior designers have a lot to thank this visionary American architect and furniture designer for because he is responsible for some of the most iconic and eye-catching pieces of designer furniture crafted during the 20th Century.

As a designer, Eames was considerably ahead of his time and the pieces he created over 60 years ago are just as relevant and contemporary today as they were when they were first released all those years ago. One of the pieces that Charles Eames is most famed for is undoubtedly that of the Charles Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman which has become one of the most striking and stylish pieces of furniture and is regularly found in upmarket, modern homes.

Charles Eames is, more often than note, credited solely for his furniture creations but, in actuality, he was assisted for most of them by his wife, Ray, who was equally as gifted when it come to crafting sophisticated, unusual and functional pieces of designer furniture. Many pieces of furniture which are designed today will have taken their grounding from the initial designs of Eames and his contemporaries such as Eero Saarinen, Hans Wegner and Arne Jacobsen.

The 1940s, 50s and 60s was a golden age for furniture design and designers like Eames are, without question, one of the cornerstones of this era which really allow design to flourish and moved furniture in a whole new direction from what was the norm at the time. It is testament to the timeless appeal of Charles Eames designer furniture that it is equally as popular today as it has always been and provides unparalleled comfort and a whole new level of style to any commercial or residential property.
