You may remember the infamous toy characters from McDonald's when you were a child, but these newly created toys are a bit different from those you might remember. Paris-based agency TBWA was recruited by the McDonald's company to produce a new set of characters for their latest Happy Meal campaign.

The eccentric cartoon designs feature numerous characters that don't seem to correlate with the fast food franchise. All the characters have the word 'happy' incorporated into their name to reinforce the iconic Happy Meal feel. Controversial characters such as the 'Happy Indian Chief' and the 'Happy Funny Bandit' might not resonate too well with parents.

The design concepts are a far stretch from the accustomed character designs that people have come to know over the years, but maybe this change is something the company needs.
