This hip expanding chair was designed by Parisian designer Patrick Jouin for Belgian Materialise.  If you push lightly down on the center handle of this chair, the piece will untwist into its functional form.

The chair was featured at the Salone del Mobile in Milan and was recently purchased for MoMA’s NYC collection.
