Poshly Conservative Dresses - Victoria Beckham’s 2009 Fashion Line (VIDEO)

Victoria Beckham’s fashion collection has finally made its debut at New York Fashion Week. She talked to a select group of fashion press including the Telegraph’s Hilary Alexander about her “dream of a lifetime.” Her inspiration came from her favorite designers and her own love of the 40’s and 50’s fashion styles.

The understated and modest style of this collection clearly shows Beckham’s design influence when working with one of her favorite designers, Roland Mouret, best known for his Galaxy Dress. The dresses are sleek and fitted with below the knee hemlines. Beckham reassured Alexander that the dresses can be made sexier by just undoing the bow “like David (Beckham) undoing his bow-tie at the end of an evening.”

Beckham’s collection of just ten dresses features luxury fabrics such as silk organza and silk crepe.

The video shows Beckham in her new pixie hairstyle at Marc Jacobs with a voiceover interview with Alexander. Beckham is wearing one of her own dresses with pin tucks and inner corsetry for her inimitable figure-hugging style.
