CAVEman 3-D Virtual Patient at University of Calgary

Scientists at the University of Calgary have created a high definition 3-D virtual patient to assist doctors with medical visualization and diagnosis. ‘Caveman’ is a virtual-reality ‘holodeck’ of sorts that simulates the anatomy and physiology of the human body. 

Doctors and diagnosticians can do a virtual ‘walk-through’ of the body looking for clues to the processes underlying medical concerns. As the technology becomes widely available, body scans will be more affordable and less invasive than the techniques currently used.

CAVEman 3-D is virtual patient created at the University of Calgary to help doctors diagnosis them patients more accurately. This is an incredible innovation that could have vast implications on the health care industry for years to come.
