The Spring ‘09 catwalks of major fashion designers provided us with a window which showcases the different collections of gorgeous, exposed shoulder evening gowns which are, for the most part, less revealing and have a wider spectrum of variety than their counterparts worn by celebrities at red carpet events. The beautiful and enchanting dresses are meant to be more modest than the asymmetric, bare shoulder variety we are used to seeing on celebrities. Some haute couture designers who have displayed the updated bare shoulder gowns are Balenciaga, Givenchy, Nina Ricci and Out of Africa for Gucci.  "...[T]he asymmetric evening gowns that have ruled the red carpet for seasons have been replaced by long columns with billowy chiffon sleeves cut to reveal just a flash of the upper arms."
