Here’s a problem you never anticipated: catalytic converter theft.  In short your catalytic converter reduces pollution and keeps your car running smoothly.  It does this by filtering out the carbon monoxide using a platinum filter.

With plutonium costs skyrocketing, catalytic converter theft is on the rise… Bandits (especially in Europe) sneak up to your car and remove the converter rendering your car a useless eco-hazard.  Snap.

This rising trend has pushed Ford to begin adding serial numbers to each catalytic converter.  In the UK, you can get a serial number added for around 11 pounds.

There's a container of precious metals dangling from the bottom of your car: your catalytic converter. They contain platinum, and its rising cost has caused a recent spike in converter theft, especially in the U.K. Not only does a missing cat let more pollution into the air, it also disables operation of the car in some cases. Weld into place, remove nuts. Install within a ext casing, place other localeunder car, couple to sensor, electric shock when Removed Illegally, keycode to Remove CC unit ALL to deter thefts.
