Verizon recently unveiled the CASIO G'zOne Ravine 2, which is a simple, rugged cellphone that provides all the basic telecommunication capabilities.

First thing I should mention is that the CASIO G'zOne Ravine 2 isn't a smartphone, therefore don't expect an iOS or Android software to magically appear. It's a simple clamshell style phone that's designed for outdoor adventurers who requires a tough mobile. The bulky exterior was built to meet military 810G standards, which means if this is dropped, stepped on or rained on, it'll still work just fine. Integrated into the system is the G'zGear software which has a few survival essentials. This includes a compass, pedometer, a walking counter and of course, GPS capability.

The CASIO G'zOne Ravine 2 may not be as high-tech as an iPhone, but it brings several advantages to the outdoor adventurer. Stats for Rugged Clamshell Mobiles Trending: Older & Chilly
