Car-Puccino is a coffee-powered car designed by a team of from the BCC1 science program “Bang Goes The Theory.” Car-Puccino, actually a modified version of a Volkswagen Scirocco, will run from Manchester to London using roasted coffee granules as fuel.

Car-Puccino will use a kilo of ground coffee for three miles, or 56 espressos a mile, and the entire journey will use approximately 11,760 espressos, giving a top speed of 60mph. Above all, the team will have to stop every 60 miles to clean coffee filters; it will take at least ten hours to complete the journey.
