By accident I just flipped through the portfolio of Berlin based photographer Betti Fiegle. Van Veluw´s photos are self-portraits, drawn and photographed by himself in a one-man-process, not to be considered as portraits but as artpieces that document the history of a short creative process with the artist shifting between the entities of subject and object. Betti Fiegle intelligibly translates the motive into the genre of fashion photography, brings lighting and make up to perfection and stages the candystick-theme in a joyous and bright mood. I didn´t ask, but I guess, photographer Betti Fiegle got inspired by the art of young, Dutch artist Levi van Veluw. The left photo is from Levi van Veluw (http://www.levivanveluw.nl), the left one from Betti Fiegle (http://bettifiegle.com/). References: levivanveluw.nl, whats-wrong-with-the-zooFiled In: |
