Fashionistas already have their eye on color for the spring 2009 season, but for those who don’t, a glimpse through this rainbow-hued gallery of gowns could just spark some sartorial inspiration.

Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet… the seven colors of the rainbow belong to the first things children learn in school, and one of the most important tidbits people will need to remember for the rest of their lives. While most people wear a wardrobe consisting of 3-5 colors (blacks, browns, blues, maybe a red piece or two—sound like you?), designers are encouraging a splash of vibrancy in their S/S 09 collections.

The gallery shows gowns from Miu Miu, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton, Carolina Herrera, Hermès, Gucci, Carolina Herrera, Elie Saab, Balmain and Jean Paul Gaultier.
