Rihanna played a rockin’ performance at the Africa Rising Festival for Nigeria Day in Abuja, Nigeria, as can be seen in the video. What’s interesting about this Rihanna concert is the location. Nigeria isn’t really a place associated with pop culture and celebrity, yet as you can see from Rihanna’s performance of “Shut Up and Drive,” her West African fan base is huge.

In fact, a quick search for Nigeria tourism reveals little more than nature attractions, and nothing about western concerts or celebrities.

The video makes it clear, however, that Rihanna has a lot Nigerian fans.
