Until I came across the Calatrava Chess Set, I never considered how perfect architectural designs were for chess pieces. This particular set pays tribute to the famous Spanish-born architect Santiago Calatrava. Both simple and statuesque, each piece is a stunning recreation of some of Calatrava's more unique designs.

Created by Thomas Perrone, the Calatrava Chess Set features six designs in particular: the Tenerife Concert Hall, Valencia Opera House, Communications Tower, 80 South Street Housing, Fordham Spire and Turning Torso. Enjoy the images of these intricately detailed pieces in the gallery above. Stats for Architectural Strategy Games Trending: Older & Chilly
