You know how hairdressers have all these different kinds of scissors and combs of all lengths, thicknesses and types? All this fuss may actually be for naught, according to barber Warren Lewis from the Memphis, Tennessee. His specialty is burning hair.

His flaming technique involves the use of a couple of candles to trim and shape his customers’ valuable cranium fur. He claims the superiority of his practice over conventional methods and admits to only one close call during the many years of his work. It seems, of course, that close calls must be a lot “closer” in his case--after all, a stray scissor cut merely makes you reconsider your haircut and headwear options.
