Grabercars offers a do-it-yourself (DIY) sports car kit, less engine, called La Bala. It is available in two models, La Bala Street and La Bala Track. The engine and some other parts, you will have to buy at a local junk yard or used auto parts dealer. The buyer must be able to weld, grind, cut, and follow a schematic to wire and fabricate.

Quite a challenge for the DIY enthusiast!

How about building your own sportscar? Sounds cool! Grabercars have self-built an ultra lightweight sports car dubbed La Bala and now, they are actually offering the car up as a build-it-yourself kit. They are offering two products, a base car ‘La Bala-Street’ and an up-rated car ‘La Bala-Track.’ The La Bala-Track is the car being offered as a diy crate kit. It includes all track/race quality uprated parts and is a true lightweight killer track only car. Mind that you cannot buy the plans to build this model. All you will get is a complete car minus engine and it comes with a set of assembly instructions. It might take a couple of weeks to set it right. The DIY kit includes all components required to assemble a complete roller. It will set you back US $25,000. On the other hand, the La Bala-Street can be built for between $10,000 and $15,000. You will have to assemble whole thing together yourself. For that, you might need to go to the junk yard and scrounge parts, ebay for the rest and you must to be able to weld, grind, cut, wire and fabricate. I think the DIY guys have got a wonderful thing here to try their hands on. (bornrich.org)
