Budweiser has soft launched what it claims is the biggest online advertising campaign ever from an alcohol brand - Bud Bucks. “Bud Bucks”, Budweiser’s virtual currency is aimed at 18- to 24-year-old men and is to be advertised on sites such as YouTube and major sports sites. Bud fans can accumulate Bud Bucks by texting or emailing a code, found on bottles of Budweiser beer. They can then bid on or buy items from budbucks.co.uk website until August. An online campaign was considered crucial after research showed that 18- to 24-year-olds spend in excess of 13 hours a week online and students spend an average 20% of their time awake online.
