Browser Wars Fire Up Again - Safari 3.1 for Windows and Mac Launches (VIDEO)

Internet Explorer has security issues, Firefox is a memory hog, and Flock is just out of beta so what browser will step up. Apple is hoping Safari will grab share from IE and FF. Today they released Safari 3.1 for both Mac and Windows. There is support for new video and audio tags in HTML 5 and CSS animations. Apple says Safari is the only browser than can do that. Safari also supports CSS web fonts, so what designers create you actually see.
Touting its speed against competing browsers, Apple says Safari loads web pages 1.9 times faster than IE 7 and 1.7 times faster than Firefox 2. Safari also runs JavaScript up to six times faster than other browsers, the company said.
