Britney Spears is continuing to exhibit strange behavior. Apparently she escaped from the rehab facility and went to Kevin Federline’s home last night.  When she wasn’t allowed to see her kids she started raging on a white SUV with an umbrella.

She was reportedly waiting outside Kevin’s place for 45 minutes before her mother picked her up and took her back to the rehab facility.

For sure this is not the last weird episode of this sad situation in what Britney Spears in now. Her personal, professional and public life is a total mess, and she is in the cover of all newspapers, tabloids, magazines, webpages, TV shows… but none of them is offering a helping hand. I really doubt she is in the situation now to accept a helping hand, by the way…

Yes, this is outrageous. Here's a devil's advocate thought: It seems so real that she is having a breakdown, but she IS worth $123 million, and one would like to think you don't get that rich without effort. IF she's just being calculated, it could be worth millions... Thoughts? Having said all that, she's probably crazy. ;)

Well, I dunno... that would take some serious intelligence on someone's part to fabricate such an elaborate 'calculation'. IF that's what the plan is, surely Britney is just a pawn in the game (much as she's always been)... I guess only time will tell.

You are correct that it's not a trend in itself, it is a side track (now noted). The reason why a sidetrack is still worthy of being posted is that we are HUNTING for trends, which means that we are looking for micro trends and factors that will impact pop culture. As sad as it may be, Britney is still one of the most influential pop stars for millions of tweens. Accordingly, the whole head shaving / (potentially staged) breakdown has a reasonable impact that is worth noting. As I have described in THIS POST the agenda of trend hunting does not involve the acceptance of pre-packaged trends, but rather the quest to find the combination of factors could help to inform the larger trends relevant to your specific innovation process. Marketers to tweens or those interested in pop culture will see Britney's events as impactful.
