Brands and advertisements are a large part of society, whether we love or hate it as consumers. In what seems to be a revolt against advertising, Generation Y has begun to play up label-crazy fashion. Using ironically costumed attire they layer on everything from Disney backpacks, to Lego necklaces and Coca-Cola can headbands that make them look like they’re attending a themed event.  In another ad on TheCoolHunter.com, a breast-feeding baby appears to be in its birthday suit, but brand and logo tattoos cover its body.

Does this logo-crazy fashion trend display a cynical GenY perspective of advertising, or does the brand-wearing fad, once again, remind consumers that these brands are alive and kicking?

For more, visit TheCoolHunter.com where an article about the excitedly branded attire provides additional insight.

From McDonalds to KFC, Brand Whores are poking fun at brands and our rampant consumerist culture. Not that the brands mind, we presume. Any opportunity to have their logos splashed about - irony, or no irony - is a chance to market. (thecoolhunter.net)
