His & Hers Boxed Offices - The Out-of-Box Workstation (VIDEO)
[Edit]
Justin Timberlake’s SNL “My D*** in a Box” skit started an increasing fascination of things in boxes. We’ve see a room in a box, assorted furniture in a box designs, a kitchen in a box, and now we have two offices in a box! Perfect for a compact office at crowded companies, or for his & hers workstations at an apartment with limited space.
The Out-of-Box Workstation by Planet 3 Studios is a rectangular box that opens up to reveal not one, but two perfectly functioning workstations. The design’s magic trick is “using the surface of the box as a jigsaw arrangement of components that unfold in a logical and sequential manner.”
So what does this double workstation entail? It packs two storage cabinets, prefixed LCD monitors, keyboard trays, CPU stands, side separators and two table-tops. And most importantly it features pre-installed necessary cabling to enable instant plug and play. You can practically use it out of the box. As for portability, the box is mounted on lockable castors and can be easily moved around via a luggage-inspired handle.
The Out-of-Box Workstation was designed by Mumbai-based team of Kalhan Mattoo, Santha Gour Mattoo, Kanwaldeep Kapoor, and Hina Parmar. It costs about $2350.
