No trousers can be found in the Bottega Veneta Fall 2014 Collection and with Tomas Maier as its creative director, the feminine power of the dress is upping the ante. Paired with a skirt or a sweater, Maier is a well-seasoned expert of womanly dressing, so the challenge this season is accomplishing a new look while maintaining the same cut.

The result is a pleating with slits, which he cleverly cuts into the constructions of the skirts and dresses. As the models walk down the runway, legs push the material to reveal a burst of contrasting panels underneath. It's definitely a stroke of ingenuity to say the least, compounding the graphic effect of fractured rays either printed or stitched into intarsias.
