Sweatpants are elevated to a lofty status in the Bottega Veneta Fall 2014 Menswear Collection. Creative director Tomas Maier takes a bold plunge into the pool of casual wear and it's interesting to see how this typically dapper gent gets on with a collection that's usually confined to the couch.

Maier calls his sweatpants "pull-on pants," cutting them from a dense wool jersey that's rich enough for the boardroom. With a back pocket and sharply rubbed cuffs, the pants are properly structured and look terrific when paired with wool jackets, coats and bomber jackets in monotone shades of celery, sage, apple and olive.

It also helps that Maier chose to pair each pant with sleek triple monk strap booties to take the edge off the loungewear.
