It’s not just women getting Botox injections in their foreheads anymore. Men have hopped aboard the cosmetic surgery bandwagon, and they’re eager for a good seat!
As the Cincinnati Enquirer put it, “For many men, Botoxing the fine lines away is no different from washing away the gray or splurging on professional tailoring.”
The wrinkle-reducing injections have become so common in Western society, that nearly everybody knows someone who has had it. If they haven’t heard about it from a friend, they’ve no doubt heard it discussed in the media or on TV shows like Desperate Housewives or Sex and the City.
With women looking younger as they age, men are realizing they need to keep themselves youthful too if they want to stay interesting for their ladies. From working out and eating well to keep fit and dressing sharply, men are becoming much more consciencious of their appearances, so its no doubt that more and more males are experimenting with cosmetic surgery too.
"Men tend to be very private when they have any kind of cosmetic work done. This is something quick-in and quick-out, without any telltale signs, short of a few less wrinkles," says Dr. Peter McKenna, plastic surgeon with the Cincinnati Institute of Plastic Surgery.
The majority of men who get Botox treatments want it for professional, as well as personal, reasons, doctors and patients say.
