The Vogue Japan January 2015 editorial taken by photographer Boo George offers an entrancing, wanderlust look at model Aymeline Valade. In each snapshot, Valade appears nomadic and lost in the great outdoors, a product of dark, rocky shores.

Stylist Havana Laffitte made Valade appear poised to weather any storm while on a fashionable outdoor trek. She did so via thick outerwear, fur-trimmed coats and sturdy lace-up boots, each piece well-suited to the many elements faced by Valade.

Both Laffiitte and George worked with a muted color palette. The two showcased neutral tones only, seen in swaths of grey, brown and black. Given the shadowy backdrop, the entire production comes across as mysterious and whimsical, especially given make up artist Hiromi Ueda's generous application of black eyeliner.
