This New BMW Plug-In Hybrid Features Parallel Drivetrains

The 330e iPerformance is a brand new BMW plug-in hybrid vehicle, set to be made available later this year for a price starting at $44,695, that brings together the best German automotive technology with the distinct design cues of the BMW 3 Series sedan.

This BMW plug-in hybrid is powered by a four-cylinder gas engine that is capable of pumping out as much as 180 horsepower and 215 pound-feet of torque. This engine is hooked up to a drivetrain that features an electric motor that offers 87 horsepower and 184 pounds-feet of torque. A lithium-ion battery setup powers the motor. Ultimately, this results in a healthy total output of 248 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
