Bionade - London's 2008 cult drink? (Update) (GALLERY)

Has anyone else spotted Bionade???
It sounds fantastic - organic, isotonic (meaning it has calcium and magnesium in the right proportion) and no artificial ingredients.
According to the BIONADE website, it is being launched here in the UK. A call to the distributors led me to Monte’s, a cute deli in Canonbury Lane, just off Upper Street in Islington where I was able to buy some.

BIONADE comes in four flavours - Elderberry, Orange & Ginger, Lychee and Herbs. Each has a unique flavour - refreshing, delicately tart with a slight fizz and not nearly as sweet as I was expecting. (I later discovered that this is because it contains gluconic acid, which is produced instead of alcohol when malt and water are fermented during the brewing process. The gluconic acid enhances natural sweetness so BIONADE contains just 4.5% sugar.)

I think it looks pretty good too. The beer-shaped bottle and the slick retro blue, white and red logo make it cool enough to be swigging directly from during the long, hot summer evenings ahead of us.
It is so HOT, I read somewhere that Coca-Cola have tried to buy it, but the owners turned them down.

Apparently, BIONADE is going to be THE drink of the summer!  Remember where you heard it first....
