Big Bird by Hungry Castle, the creative studio of Dave Glass and
Kill Cooper based in Barcelona, Spain, is a giant interactive installation built for the annual Secret Garden Party arts and music festival, which is the UK’s four day version of Burning Man. It revolves around the theme of superstition. As clever and comical as ever, the artists created a water slide that is essentially 'pooped' on by the huge bird in order to stay slick. In this way, it addresses the superstition of good luck when shat on by a bird.
First illustrated by Miguel Avecilla AKA Bandid8, Big Bird by Hungry Castle was brought to life by sculptor Aden Hynes out of polystyrene coated with resin. It goes by the motto, "Shit happens."
