In the world of homebuilding, contracting honest work is harder than what you might think. Homeowners are often finding themselves in sticky situations with dishonest contractors, and Florida-based BidABuilder hopes to combat the issue by providing a way for homeowners to find honest, prescreened builders.

BidABuilder is an online site that lists contracts who are given the opportunity to bid on projects submitted by homeowners. According to Springwise, contractors can only participate if they provide photo ID, license and insurance info, and submit to a criminal background check. BidABuilder also allows homeowners to rate contractors on their performance after projects have been completed.

Nice! We got schooled by a contractor (in a bad way) fixing our house after the '94 earthquake in LA. This would have been really nice.
