BeyoncÃ© Knowles launched the House of DerÃ©on clothing line for kids. The ads for the line depict a series of young girls with heavily made up faces, wearing five inch high heels and posing inappropriately, as if they were posing for a provocative men's magazine.
According to MediaTakeOut.com, there has been a number of mainstream blogs and new organizations who are launching campaign against Beyonce and her line of House Of Dereon.
â€œWhat is the next ad going to look like? Babies wearing gold metallic bikinis while five-year old boys throw Monopoly money on them?â€ MediaTakeOut asks.
â€œLet our children be damn children at least 'til the age of 8. Then they can worry about bikini waxes and putting out.â€
I know some might argue that Beyonce is attempting to make the kids look hip and fresh, but I think that she should try them out on her own kids first. That is, if she knows anything having children or how to raise them.
I have seen a lot of ads that sexually objectify women and children, but this one was the icing on the cake. I believe artists and celebrities should make use of their fortune to improve society, not corrupt it. Maybe I am naive to think that way, but it's the only way I can sleep at night.
