First breaking out on the scene in the 1700s in France, Bergere chairs were the to-die-for staple in every home. Marie Antionette’s country home, Petit Trianon, was littered with these regal-looking furniture pieces. Now, Bergere chairs are making a comeback, but like every revival, there are some modern touches that make this decor more hip than ever.

People are beginning to play with bright color and bold patterns. We are seeing fewer antique Bergere chairs that are popular within the realm of traditional decor and instead we are seeing them in more modern spaces.
