There's nothing more emblematic of summer then going out for a picnic on a warm sunny day, but your typical picnic table has its fair share of drawbacks. They're stiff, uncomfortable, and oftentimes provide little in the way of back support. Fortunately, designers Wouter Nieuwendijk and Jair Straschnow are hoping to change that with their latest design "Another Picnic Table".
"This new variation of the iconic picnic table is trying to tackle two issues," says Nieuwendijk, "splitting the bench into separate seats results in easier access, but also offers another option - a more relaxed low seating position."
The bench itself is designed from compressed bamboo and was initially created due to a lack of seating in parks and other recreational areas. Personally I wouldn't mind a more relaxed way to sit while sharing a picnic with friends.
