Beer can chicken is a popular Southern dish that involves roasting a chicken that is perched on top of a partially filled beer can. Now Popeyes is bringing the popular delicacy directly to consumers in the form of a new fried chicken dish.

Popeyes' Beer Can Rip'n Chick'n is a returning menu item that will only be available for a limited time. The dish consists of a chicken breast that has been marinated in a blend of rosemary, garlic, cayenne and lemon zest before it is battered, fried and cut into strips. While no actual beer is used in the making of the dish, the press release explains that it is "the seasonings that make Beer Can chicken a classic Southern experience."

Served with a buttermilk biscuit, Creamy Cayenne dipping sauce and a side of the customer's choosing, the beer can chicken-inspired dish provides a tasty way to indulge in a bit of Southern cuisine.
