Mysterious Grand Pianos Washed Ashore in the Netherlands Posted: Feb 17, 08 Comments: 3 Views: 1,269 It’s obvious that the Dutch are not afraid of the sea, with 20% of the country being below sea level. The sea doesn’t seem to bring them fear or destruction, it brings them surprises. Big beach surprises. Remember the mysterious big lego figure that washed ashore in Zandvoort in the Netherlands last year? Well, that’s not the only strange thing that has been found on the beaches of the Netherlands. On one of the Western Frisian Islands, an island called Schiermonnikoog, three giant grand pianos were found on the beach. It is not clear where they came from or when they washed ashore, but they are there and they are big! The island is not known to be an island of giants, but it does have a classical music festival in October each year. So the grand pianos might have got something to do with that festival. There is no mention of the pianos on their website though so this has not been confirmed. References: blog.scope.isFiled In: |
