Due to the surrounding flood plain landscape, designers from Leroy Street Studio had to come up with alternative solutions for the Bay House near Long Island, US. Elevated piles were used to make the most of the space without having the house sink into the depths below.
Considering the amazing views that surround every direction of the house, it's no wonder the owners wanted to build on this land despite the risk of unsteady ground. The bay and marsh can be seen from the window, and a wooden boardwalk connects the road to the back of the house. Because of the type of land that surrounds the Bay House, the neighbours are not located extremely close, giving residences ample privacy.
