Barenaked Ladies Ed Robertson Walks Away[Edit]
We’re kinda used to rockers crashing and burning right before our very eyes, but not literally. Crash and burn came too close to Barenaked Ladies frontman Ed Robertson when a plane he was piloting smacked Mother Earth. The float-plane didn’t do so well on land, but Robertson and three others just crawled out a window. Everybody is OK. The plane went down near Baptiste Lake north of Bancroft, a very popular cabin retreat area.  "At 12:30 p.m. a Cessna 206 was taking off from Baptiste Lake, lost airspeed and entered a wooded area west of the lake," Sgt. Jeff MacKinnon of Bancroft OPP said in a telephone interview.
He said the plane was totaled but all four adults managed to walk out of the woods and soon reported the crash.
"They got out and then called it in," said MacKinnon.
