Rewarding Bar Beacons

Heineken Gives On-the-Spot Rewards to Heineken Live App Users

There are about 120 BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) bar beacons that have been installed in Heineken locations across New Zealand that dole out instant rewards to consumers who use the Heineken Live mobile app.

With each visit to a Heineken venue, app users are able to collect Heineken Status Points and Venue Points, which can be redeemed for everything from VIP tickets to special food and drink vouchers, helicopter rides and more. In total, there's about US $355,320 worth of rewards available during the first six months of the program.

As a reward for getting out and exploring the country, Heineken promises to keep the experiences coming with more exciting incentives. Heineken New Zealand’s marketing manager Taylor Green says: "Imagine being out with your friends on a Friday night and getting a notification on your phone saying there’s a helicopter booked to take you to an amazing party on the other side of the city."
