How good or bad your currency is doing in the world’s economic gloom is bound to affect the way you view these money sculptures. I feel that I would love them no matter what. They are from artist Justine Smith, who also makes dollar signs blinged up with dollars as some of her sculptural pieces. The three dollar piece featured is called the Holy Trinity. There is brilliantly subtle attention to detail too, with an English Bull Terrier dog made out of British notes.  On a physical level, a banknote is just a piece of paper, but it is what a banknote actually represents that is central to Smith's practice. Her work as an exploration of our relationship with money and our response to it, in a political, moral and social sense, whilst also exploiting the physical beauty of the note."
