The debate between a delicious pho soup or a Banh Mi sandwich is officially over thanks to 'East Borough' in Los Angeles. It's a hard choice, you know you're craving Vietnamese, but deciding between the two signature dishes is just a crime.
Devised by chef Chloe Tran, the 'Pho Baguette' sandwich is basically a Vietnamese version of a French Dip, where the innards are made up of traditional pho filling like beef brisket, basil leaves and bean sprouts, and the sandwich is made to be dipped into a small bowl of pho broth.
On top of the baguette is a new age drizzle of hoisin Sriracha aioli, lest you forget how innovative this reimagined sandwich actually is. It looks delicious and I want one right meow.
