European environmentalists have proposed a ban on outdoor heaters, a feature many people have become accustomed to at public outdoor venues.

The heat lamps are often featured in restaurants and cafes with outdoor patios, and make for a very comfortable setting for nights out. Particularly smokers find shelter from the cold under these, but if the new ban goes into place, sweater sales may just go up!

Environmentally conscious EU citizens are arguing that comfort comes secondary to preventing global warming, which they argue the outdoor patio heaters contribute to.
