The designers responsible for the Azzaro Resort 2014 Collection have just moved into a new house and are faced with a decision as a result; Arnaud Maillard and Alvaro Castejón can either play is safe or come out swinging, aiming take the brand back to its glory days.
For the first collection, the creative directors zero in on the cherry blossom, or sakura, but instead of capturing its fragility, they have it technical dimension and Technicolor impact. The last number is a deliberate interpretation of the famous dress worn by Jane Birkin in 1972.
Its strategically placed metal flower bits define Azzaro's flashy, feminine spirit, while the house's familiar crystals turn up in graphic contours on cocktail dresses.
