Books are intended to be read, city phone listings are intended to search phone numbers, Mount Rushmore is made of stone… forget all these conventions and behold these awesome book sculptures. The artist Long-Bin Chen, born in Taipei, Taiwan, creates true sculpture art using old books and real phone listings.

For instance the art piece Buddha Head is carved from a stack of New York phone books. The textures Chen achieves with his particular carving technique are simply amazing, really similar to stone but sweet as paper.

From now on there can be a second life for the big phone listings we have at home, recycle them into into unique art pieces. Stats for Awesome Telephone Book Sculptures Trending: Older & Warm
