German automaker Audi has announced its support for Travolution, a German traffic light communication management system that effectively reduces traffic congestion.

In Audi’s home town of Ingolstadt, 46 Travolution traffic lights communicate with specially-equipped Audi A5s and A6s. The cars then display the optimal speed for the driver to maintain in order to sail through green lights rather than encountering red lights. In addition, the ‘smart’ lights interpret traffic density and adjust the timing of red and green lights accordingly to reduce time spent at red lights and thereby minimize stop-and-start traffic.

bring this to LA CA alone. Major need for. Sadly LA City Govt is 30 years Behind the times. vs San Jose CA ( Silicon Valley CA). Must have worldwide. Neat.

Agreed, too much red tape and too many people. They could test drive it in the SFV...
